I had the immense privilege to be part of the Klutz LEGO: Minifigure Photography book. It’s out now and (I may be biased) I think it’s a fantastic resource for anyone interested in starting out on their LEGO photography adventure.
It’s packed with tips, ideas, and prompts for taking photos. It also has the signature paper craft and LEGO elements you’d expect from a Klutz LEGO book. Here’s what you get:
Here’s the description from the Klutz website:
Learn how to take great photos with LEGO minifigures! Two included minifigures are ready to strike a pose, with 30 LEGO props and accessories, including wigs, sports equipment, animals, and other odds and ends. Six oversized backgrounds will help you frame your photos so you get great-looking results right away. Chock-full of step-by-step photos, LEGO fans can make the most out of their own LEGO collections and imagine creative scenarios for their minifigures, whether they’re playing a game of ice hockey in the refrigerator, exploring their backyard, or going on an international adventure. Lessons in the book are broad enough so to not depend on a particular technology. These are fun tricks and illusions you can create with any camera, including forced perspective to make your LEGO minifigures look life-sized.
Where to buy the book
Being a Klutz book by Scholasitic, you’ll find it in any good book retailer, whether it’s online or in-person.
If you’re in Australia, I’ve spotted it for a great price at Big W and Target for just $20.
For those of you with kids, you’re also probably familiar with the Scholastic Book Fairs and Book Club brochures that get sent to schools. It’s been in there too!
Have you bought the book?
If you’ve bought the book, I’d love to hear how you’ve found it and see any photos you’ve taken. If you’re on Instagram, tag me at @brickpixels or contact me through this site.
Enjoy!
